RE: Default DnD behavior (was RE: GMC feedback / comments)



How about having the left drag prompt you, then the user gets a choice.
Then have the (whatever the default is) happen on the middle drag. Then the
inexperienced user will get a choice and the power user will have a shortcut
method.

I agree with the default being the same in all cases. User selectable is a
verry good idea as well. 
Maby the stock default should be copy
There could be a menu called D&D
under D&D there would be three radio buttons
COPY
MOVE
LINK

Then when a power user wants to do mass moves, he just selects move, and
middle draggs everything across. Then he wants to link a fiew things. He
selects Link and middle drags afiew links... You get the idea.

I think this setup would flow quite nicely...
