I didn't find anything in the archives on this.
Redhat 5.1
Gnome 1.0 +
Basically I installed the following
ORBit-0.4.0.tar.gz glib-1.2.0.tar.gz
gnome-utils-1.0.1.tar.gz imlib-1.9.4.tar.gz
audiofile-0.1.6.tar.gz gnome-admin-1.0.1.tar.gz
gnumeric-0.17.tar.gz libghttp-0.99.2.tar.gz
control-center-1.0.2.tar.gz gnome-core-1.0.1.tar.gz gsl-0.3b.tar.gz
libgtop-1.0.1.tar.gz
ee-0.3.8.tar.gz gnome-core-1.0.3.tar.gz
gtk+-1.2.0.tar.gz libxml-1.0.0.tar.gz
enlightenment-0.15.0.tar.gz gnome-games-1.0.1.tar.gz
gtk-engines-0.5.tar.gz mc-4.5.25.tar.gz
fnlib-0.4.tar.gz gnome-libs-1.0.3.tar.gz
gtop-1.0.1.tar.gz xscreensaver-3.07.tar.gz
freetype-1.1.tar.gz gnome-pim-1.0.1.tar.gz guile-1.3.tar.gz
This .xinitrc works
#!/bin/sh
# WindowMaker Default .xinitrc
#enlightenment
panel &
exec /usr/local/bin/wmaker
#gnome-session
##
If I change it to
#!/bin/sh
# WindowMaker Default .xinitrc
#enlightenment
#panel &
#exec /usr/local/bin/wmaker
gnome-session
##
gnome-session runs but doesn't start a window manager
I've tried changing /usr/local/share/default.session and default.wm to
wmaker and enlightenment and neither start.
If I add gmc to my startup apps via the control center gmc will start but
I still don't have a window manager.
enlightenment was built with defualt options
window maker was built with --with-gnome
Anyone have an idea what to try. I'd really like to get session
management working. Thanks.
