Slow GNOME on Mandrake 7.0

Hi Everyone,

I am running GNOME on Mandrake Linux 7.0.  It takes forever to start up
when I log into the server.  I am trying to figure out why this was.  I
thought Ocotober GNOME took care of this nagging problem. 

I should also mention that I have tried building and installing
gnome-libs-1.0.57 and other updates to GNOME since thr release of Mandrake
7.0.  This did not seem to help.  It still takes me almost 2-4 minutes to
get a gnome-session running after loggin into the server.

Can anyone suggest a work-around to this problem?  Has anyone else
experienced this problem lately?
