Seg Fault in gnome_init?

Hi all, I don't know where to post this so Ill put it here.

I just downloaded Electric Fence in an attempt to avoind my newbie C 
programming errors.  The problem is that it gives a segfault in one of 
the routines called by gnome_init when I link to the lefence library.

Is this a known problem or have I stumbled onto something?
