This happened a few times to me with ggv, which probably has a memory leak.
I'm using the stock suse 6.4 Gnome. When I print from ggv, it sometimes
eats up the whole memory (I know this because I watch the Mem/Swap
applets). It doesn't respond any more then, except to AltGr+SysRq+E (magic
SysRq terminate all).
