Environment:
* Dual PIII 800
* 256M RAM
* RedHat 6.2
* XFree86 4.0.1
* ATI Xpert 128 PCI
* ATI Xpert 2000 AGP
* New user to XFree86 / Gnome and the like (am used to Solaris / Openwin)
Problem:
* Would like to have gnome fire up on both screens
* While a 'panel' would be nice on both screens, is not necessary
* I am not using graphical login. I log in and then 'startx' when necessary
Currently:
* Fresh install of the system, freshly built apps and Helix Gnome
* No manual changes have been made to the system... all configs are defaults (except for XFree86 - it needed to be configged for the two monitors)
* 'startx' produces a gnome desktop on one monitor, a blank-grey background on the other (no window manager)
So, with this situation, I am trying to get gnome process(es) to control both monitors. Can anyone help me or point me to a resource on doing this?
Thanks,
- Tony
