yes. if you don't want the applets binding to tcp sockets, put this in
either your ~/.orbitrc or `gnome-config --sysconfdir`/orbitrc:
ORBIIOPUSock=1
ORBIIOPIPv4=0
ORBIIOPIPv6=0
