All GNOME-1.2 packagers, AFAIK, have opted for these safe defaults
(fondly we recall the massive flame wars ;-).
Including:
- RedHat 7.0
- Ximian GNOME
- Debian, so I'm told
Perhaps the original poster is a RedHat6.x or other GNOME-1.0 user?
