Gnome-2.6 some keyboard-shortcuts behaving badly

Hi everybody! 

When I choose Applications->Preferences->Keyboard-shortcuts 
and choose a shortcut for "Start helpviewer" 

Then invoke this shortcut, the fonts of the desktop are reverted back to
the default size and then back again to the font size I have changed it
too. 

This also happens for the Logout shortcut as well, but not the
Lockscreen shortcut. 

Anyone else seen this problem? Anyone know what might be wrong and can
point me in the right direction to solve the problem.
