gnomine + svg on an amd64/gentoo

Hi all,
I have problems getting gnomine running in an amd64/gentoo environment.
I mewntioned explictely the use of svg for compiling the gnome-2.8, but the error is still:
$ gnomine
** ERROR **: Couldn't recognize the image file format for file '/usr/share/pixmaps/gnomine/flag.svg'
aborting...
