mouse problem

i'm not sure whether i send this to the right mailing
list, since i'm not sure what causes my problem.

recently i'm having a mouse problem, my pointer
disappear from gnome console, but on tty it is still
working.

i'm using FC 3 and Gnome Version 2.8.0

the problem appears after i installed a billing
program from ccl.sourceforge.net

rebooting the machine will bring back the mouse, but
after few times of idling, it will disappear again
from gnome.

anyone have a clue on how to fix this?
