Re: gnome-main-menu too large for screen

thanks to Julian for the solution:

Reduce the number of recent items shown by running:

 gconftool -t int \
 --set /desktop/gnome/applications/main-menu/file-area/max_total_items <number>

You can also open the configuration editor (System->Preferences or
Applications->System Tools) and navigate to
       /desktop/gnome/applications/main-menu/file-area/
and change the value of max_total_items there.

Hello,  I am a newbie and need help with resizing the gnome-main-menu (0.9.12).  The menu was an appropriate size for my HP mini netbook, but recently it got larger, probably with an update.  Is there a settings file that I could modify?  Screen resolution is set at 1024x600.  Using Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope.

I've attached a "screenshot".

Thanks,

Ricardo
