Hi all,
Skype now has a qt-based Linux client... I just installed it on my
Mandrake 10.0 and did not manage to get any clear sound with a Windows
client...
The install wizard is insanely simple, there is no way to choose /
configure the codecs, and as I said, no clear sound was heard (except my
breath!). I think the infamous comparison between Skype and "other
standard VoIP clients" (as stated on http://www.skype.com/skype.html)
needs a serious refresh, especially the part about sound quality :-)
On the + side though, Skype doesn't use port 80 as default anymore, and
media is streamed via UDP (rumor said it once was over TCP...).
Long live to GM!
