Another reason why I have not autoconfigured things is that it is not
enough to enable IP translation. It is enough to enable STUN support in
non-symmetric NAT (too rare), but not enough to enable IP Translation.
There is also additional configuration required, as mentionned in the
FAQ.
If I autoconfigure things, perhaps the user would think it is enough and
wonder why it doesn't work. So I force him to do it himself so that he
understands it is not enough and reads the FAQ.
Perhaps a mix of auto-configuration (pre-configuration?) and information
my 2 cents :)
