Re: [GnomeMeeting-list] Logitech Cameras

Hi!

I did not have any problems with my webcam.

If you get one with a Logitech-Quick-Cam chip inside you will find a well working driver at http://qce-ga.sourceforge.net/ or something like this for your USB-Webcam. Ah, I forot to say: I have the old "DEXXA-Webcam" and a "LOGITECH QC NOTE". But I think as it is said within the websites many of the Logitech models should be working with the driver.
All the best - regards,
Konstantin

Hi - just wondering if anyone has tried the Logitech Notebook Pro
camera and what success you've had with it ?

I suppose it was more or less supported by the PWC driver, which might or might not be in the next stable kernel - there is a bit of a discussion going on at the moment between the kernel developers, the maintainer, and a rather large group of people like me who use this driver.

Note that I have not tried this webcam, and buying webcams for linux is usually a bit of a gamble still (sadly enough). Different chips might be used in products with the same name, making it hard to identify the device before you plug it in.

Some pointers:

The USB list (says that it's supported):

Archived copy of the PWC driver homepage (supported for 'Pro' only):
