right.

we are actually research engineers, working on a project that involves video conferencing. We are looking at ekiga in that context.

at one end of our app, a headset will be used. At the other, there has to be mic and speaker. So echo cancellation is important. To date we have used a hardware solution which has been OK-ish ... but if it was in the app that would be even better.

What's really neat about ekiga though is the way it handles NAT/firewalls.

Yes, but headsets generally give far better results.
