I tried to manually go through all of the package dependencies and I ran
into
the following error trying to compile gnome-print-0.35:
gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.. -I.. -I../intl -I../intl
-I/usr/local/include -I/usr/local/include/freetype2
-I/usr/local/include/gnome-1.0 -DNEED_GNOMESUPPORT_H
-I/usr/local/lib/gnome-libs/include -I/usr/local/include/gtk-1.2
-I/usr/local/include/glib-1.2 -I/usr/local/lib/glib/include
-I/usr/X11R6/include -I/usr/local/include/gnome-xml
-DPROFILEDIR=\"/usr/local/share/gnome-print/profiles/\"
-DGNOMEPRINT_LIBDIR=\"/usr/local/lib\" -I/usr/local/include/gtk-1.2
-I/usr/local/include/glib-1.2 -I/usr/local/lib/glib/include
-I/usr/X11R6/include -DGNOMELOCALEDIR=\"/usr/local/share/locale\"
-DBINDIR=\"/usr/local/bin\" -DDATADIR=\"/usr/local/share\"
-DFONTMAPDIR_STATIC=\"/usr/local/share/gnome/fonts\"
-DFONTMAPDIR_DYNAMIC=\"/usr/local/etc/gnome/fonts\" -g -O2 -Wall
-Wunused -c gnome-print-ps2.c -fPIC -DPIC -o .libs/gnome-print-ps2.lo

make[2]: *** [gnome-print-ps2.lo] Error 1
Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong? I don't want to pay for the
ximian packages.
Thanks...
Dave

1.0.5 is current
A tree of dependencies is pretty deep and I wonder if there is a
tool for automatically resolving package dependencies...
www.ximian.com has 'redcarpet' and current packages.
