If I select a range of cells and do Format Cells/Numeric, most of the

1.1.11 had some work done on just in time rendering. That message
indicates that something went amiss with the rendering. I can't
replicate it with the current CVS so it must have been fixed. There
will be a 1.1.12 release on Thursday.
After experimentation, I see this only happens when the cell contents
are given by a formula. E.g. type "1" into A1, type "=A1+1" into A2,
select A1 and A2, do Format/Cells/Numeric and accept the default of 2
decimal places. A1 is formatted to 2 decimal places but the text in
A2 disappears. The formula bar still shows the correct formula but
the cell in the worksheet appears blank.
