building gnumeric in garnome

Okay, I have the libgsf stuff built and I'm moving on to gnumeric.

I do:
        ./autogen.sh --prefix=/home/george/garnome
and get:

directory
or directly to your aclocal.m4 file.
You will also need config.guess and config.sub, which you can get from
ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/config/.

It mentions the files codeset.m4 gtettext.m4, etc., etc...

I have two codesets, one each in:
        ~/GNOME/garnome-0.17.1/gnome/glib/work/glib-2....
        /usr/share/aclocal

I have one iconv.m4 in:
        /usr/share/aclocal

Other files are in one more more places on my system.  How stable are these
files?  Can I "cat" them into the aclocal.m4 from either place?

Should I take them from the first of these directories I find them in?
        ~/garnome/share...
        ~/GNOME/garnome-0.17.1...
        /usr/share
