While at GUADEC, I put together a new snapshot of pygtk for gtk 2.0. It
should compile with python >= 2.0, and glib/gtk+ >= 1.3.3.
As with previous releases, there are dynamic linker problems. You will
either need to relink your copy of python to pass the RTLD_GLOBAL flag
when dlopen'ing extensions, or hack the makefiles of pango and gtk+ so
that pango, gdk-pixbuf loader and input method modules list the
appropriate libraries as dependencies (this requires libtool 1.3d to work
correctly).
The snapshot can be found at
http://www.gnome.org/~james/pygtk2-SNAP-20010408.tar.gz
I will attach some patches to
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50707 that fix the dynamic
linker problems, and can be applied once libtool 1.4 is released.
James.
