I had the same problem. GLIB_LIBS is defined in glib-2.0.m4 in the glibcvs m4macros directory. Copying glib-2.0.m4 to /usr/share/aclocal solvedthe problem. There is a similar file in the gtk+ cvs m4macros directory,gtk-2.0.m4.
