Aargh, you are correct, of course. Sorry. 

Hmm, but it's only GNU msgfmt that recognizes the fuzzy
pseudo-comment. The Solaris msgfmt, for instance, gladly includes the
fuzzy translations in the .mo file. We don't require GNU gettext, or
do we?
