What you're missing is that GtkOptionMenu isn't opaque enough - we
can't backward-compatibly change it such that the combobox vs. menu
look is part of the theme.
So this GtkComboBox would replace GtkOptionMenu, we would deprecate
GtkOptionMenu. (Though GtkComboBox in menu mode and GtkOptionMenu
would look and behave exactly the same so there would not be a huge
hurry to purge all usage of the option menu API.)
