Hi,
did anyone check how this problem is dealt with in Mac OS X
application images (such as http://gimp-app.sourceforge.net/)? These
dmg files are self-contained application bundles. To my knowledge they
contain a complete installation of all files needed for an application
to run (including all libraries and data files). I guess that the base
directory of this bundle is mounted into the filesystem when the app
is started. This setup would suffer from the same problem but I don't
know of any changes to the sources that are necessary to make this
work. It may be worth to investigate how the problem is solved here.
Sven
