Colorspace converters in Gdk-Pixbuf

Hello people!

I've seen some discussion about colorspace converters in Gdk-Pixbuf
in the gtk-deve-list archive and I'd like know what was decided about
it. I'm developing a DIP (Digital Image Processing) program and 
colorspace converters are *very* important, specially a RGB <-> YIQ
converter. I've some ideas about it, but firstly I'd like listen what
you are to say about it.
