good day all ...
i'm trying to comptile glib 1.2.7 on an ultrasparc using gcc 2.95.2. configure
fails with:
......
checking for gcc... (cached) gcc
checking whether the C compiler (gcc -g -O2 ) works... yes
checking whether the C compiler (gcc -g -O2 ) is a cross-compiler... yes
checking whether we are using GNU C... (cached) yes
checking whether gcc accepts -g... (cached) yes
checking for gcc option to accept ANSI C... none needed
checking for a BSD compatible install... ./install-sh -c
checking for extra flags to get ANSI library prototypes... configure: error:
can not run test program while cross compiling
i built the compiler and it was not built as a cross compiler.
here are the details:
61 root@larch /usr/local/glib-1.2.7> gcc -v
Reading specs from /usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/sparc-sun-solaris2.8/2.95.2/specs
gcc version 2.95.2 19991024 (release)
62 root@larch /usr/local/glib-1.2.7> uname -a
SunOS larch 5.8 Generic sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-5_10
any help with this would be greatly appreciated!
