As a good gentoo user you are very very much ask to contact _GENTOO_ 
maintainers, not the maintainers of the package. If you have a problem 
with ANYTHING then go to the gentoo forums. If this seems not right to 
you, than the distribution is not right for you.
If you have a problem using gnu auto* tools go to gnu forums.
