I disagree. Selective text labels on key controls are good usability.

I find the wider play button not only easier to hit, but immediately
intuitive. It's argued here that the triangle play button is universal,
but so are the forward/reverse buttons. Now Play stands out dominantly
as the dominate action.

Slippery slope arguments are no good. Besides, Muine is a shining
example of good, minimalist UI design, and Jorn shows no signs towards
changing this trend, so your really making a moot point.
