I agree - this is not necessarily a Nautilus 1.0 thing (to have custom 
fonr for each directory). But it would be interesting to note that EFM 
(competing 'shell/file manager'?) has that sort of thing going. The 
cooler thing about EFM is you can drag and drop fonts and have the 
directory take on that font :) That of course, would be cool for Nautilus 
as well (especially if we can use TTF and drag them around and stuff).

My vote is, make it a post-1.0 feature (there is way too much stuff 
already needed for 1.0).
