I remember it was decided to use a kernel-like naming scheme, wasn't it?

So, I think it should be called 1.1 if there are mostly new features or
1.2 if this should be a stable bug fixing release.

This looks good, I agree.

I extended your request-list a bit with stuff I read in the list,
on bugzilla and what just came to my mind.

So this is a list of features I think would be great to have in a not so far
future version of nautilus.

* Bugfixes and speed improvements

* Undo feature
* Su-like feature
* Trash metafile for undeleting
* Selection by regexp/MIME-Type
* Terminal here menu item
* SMB support

* ogg support for the music view

* 'View as photo album'
* View tgz and bz2 archives
* View deb and rpm packages

* HTML previewing
* Font previewing
* Movie previewing
* PDF previewing

* File and Folder operations in the tree view
* Support for multiple (configurable) roots in tree view
   (Root, Home, Documents, Network)

* New 'combined-list-and-tree' view
  (like mozilla shows file:// or FTP directories)
* Clipboard sidebar tab to DnD items to and from

* More scripts
* More themes
