We know opening a new window can be slow, and we have been working on it.

It would be great if you could file specific bugs in our bug tracker at
bugzilla.eazel.com about useability and performance issues
that you encounter.  Some of the issues that you brought up here
(particularly performance in the location bar and the backgrounds and
emblems dialog) haven't been
mentioned before to my knowledge.

We'd like to start indexing notes data, and had at one point planned to do
this for 1.0,
