Andy did it. He loves shortcuts like this. I should have talked him out of it in the first place.

The way to do it correctly is to have a magic drop type,
such as x-gnome-reset-background or something.
Then, if the user drags the Reset icon, you offer that drop type
instead of the filename or image type you are currently using.
On the drop side, you advertise that you can accept both
x-gnome-reset-background or a filename/image. And you see which one
you received, and act accordingly. It's really not harder to implement
than the bad hack. ;-)
