The problem and Alexander adressed it is that while the spatial is very
clean from a UI point of view that without a location bar or a
cumbersome tree view in a sidebar it is hard to quickly move from one
arbitrary location to another.  

The Mac OS X finder gets around this by having shortcuts in a sidebar to
common user locations.  This just looked like a good idea.
