You will never like it, no matter how good it is, if you are already
prejudiced against it -- don't you think? Hardly a way to fairly
evaluate new ideas if you helplessly cling to the old. 

I hated the multi-window win95, but I must say I am a complete convert
to spatialus -- GNOME is *not* the same beast as win95 or "old mac".
Take a couple weeks to train yourself before you write of spatialus;
maybe your habits need to change, not the UI.
