Hi,
But it is hiding an existing problem. What we really need is the
notification system that doesn't block umounts, what you have written at
the beginning.
BTW., what is wrong with umounting a filesystem that has open file
descriptors? If any program is writing/reading files and filesystem is
umounted, it should get an error, and if it is fatal for it, then it
should display some message and quit.
