cannot run executable files

I've just recently started having a problem with nautilus not wanting to
run programs when I double click on them. It brings up a dialog box
saying "There is no action associated with "<FILENAME>". etc etc.

Anyone have any clue on a possible quick fix to this.. I'm sure its just
something in my users configuration that got garbled. Everything works
fine on other user accounts on this machine.
