Actually as I read this more closely, I should say the issue is more
critical with Administrative functions where you have to become a root
user while in gnome. I can see why gdm logins are hard to implement
before logging on because Orca isn't running yet and won't be until a
user logs in. The spech settings and all are stored in a user's home
directory so how could Orca be running before you login?

The directions I've seen and reviewed more than once on the wiki seem
to apply only to Ubuntu. I cannot find a way to get this to work with
Debian. Have any Debian users gotten this to work?

Hi,
I know this question has been asked many times before on this list. But I would like to know if anyone
was able to get it running on Ubuntu Ibex.
Cheers

PS: I currently use simple work around with prerecorded voices in audio .wav in gdmsetup
