Hy Steve,
I will be looking a demo Orca style main window design for a default
focused read-only textview widget to easy see how works Orca related
this way implementation with Michael would like. Can you or anybody
sending an example text with would like see the read-only textview
widget in the main window?
If read-only textview widget the caret navigation is not possible
default enabling, good your openion if we put simple a label with
Michael want text? Label is not good I think full because not possible
browsing the presented text with Up and Down arrow keys, but Orca
automaticaly spokening the label text.
Now, I will begin design the training mode function for a single
application, and if I ready and more users would like seeing this
feature inside with Orca Screen Reader, I will be try integrating the
ready single application for Orca.
Very helpful me if anybody sending some complete grammatical right
lesson texts, and example suggestion dialogs for a lesson, this is very
easyest me the designing.
If not want more users this vizard style training mode inside for Orca,
but single application is a good ydea, I have got some concepts:
1. We follow up the first yesterday sent demo design when we begin the
implementation. First presenting the tutorial related informations for a
lesson, and if the user clicking next button, possible try the teached
practices. For example, first lesson need I think learning basic dialog
widgets moving for Tab and Shift+Tab key, and Orca where am I feature,
with very important for basic Orca usage. If the user clicking the next
button, he get an example dialog with possible trying where am I
function for various widgets (check boxes, radio buttons, combo boxes,
etc). Depending this mode a single application or inside of Orca have,
the application possible detecting the used keyboard layout, and tell
the user what keystroke now he possible using where am I function.
Second lesson possible learning the flat review function, if the user
clicking next button, he get an example dialog again, with possible he
trying basic flat review functions without risk he's system.
Okai, but what place will be we inserting basic dialog widgets keyboard
usage lesson part? Now I think need this lesson, because tutorial
messages for Orca default not enabled. If this mode have inside for
Orca, not a good ydea temporary enable the tutorial messages related
setting I think and restores original setting if trainer mode function
is closed, but for example this is easyest the tutorial because not need
this basic topics related lessons (how can using check boxes for
keyboard, how can using radiobuttons for keyboard, etc).
2. If this type design is not good, training application presenting a
dialog, with have welcome label, and some buttons, with possible
separate threads the different topics. For example, have a "learn basic
dialog widgets using for keyboard", "Learn some Orca basic features", etc.
This way design possible prowide a more modularity design, possible
implementing later another lessons with are requested, but need
following this desing only I think if trainer mode function is accepted
more users only with a single application. In inside of Orca this way
designed function I think not help beginner users problems if not known
basic practices how can possible jumping a dialog widgets and activate a
button.
Attila
