Hi Alex.
It seems to me that Thunderbird requiring users use drag and drop seems
like a seriously bug in Thunderbird. What if a user cannot use a mouse,
but happens to be sighted, e.g. due to a physical disability? Should
that user be expected to install a screen reader and learn its commands
just to move some columns around??

I had started implementing support a while back and was encountering
problems with synthesizing events so I set it aside. Seeing as how
annoying it is for you both I'll bump it back up on my list. Sorry!
FYI, I've another user that ask me: how to reorder my columns on
Thunderbird? The only way to do that is drag and drop so I'm a little
bit confused to tell him to request help from a sighted person or to use
NVDA on Windows to modify his Thunderbird profile.
If I add a bounty on such bug, could it help you to spent time on this
task? Or should I request your employee?
Best regards,
Alex.
