The version of monkey-media in net-rb has a couple of workarounds to get
around gstreamer's lack of mime-type detection for streaming media. These
workarounds are a bit hacky, but they do the job until the Gstreamer is
fixed. Last time I heard gstreamer 0.6.1 (which is due out soon) will fix
this bug. This has the reason Jorn gave to me as to why he hasn't applied my
monkey-media 'unification' patches
(http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=110193)
