It depends on exactly what the Keyboard Shortcut preferences tool does. You need
to consider the definitions of keyboard shortcut vs shortcut that the
documentation people are using. Currently the Sun documentation team is
developing the following the following definitions:
Shortcut:
--------
An action or a sequence of actions that is performed by a combination of one or
more keystrokes or mouse clicks. A shortcut provides a quicker and more
convenient way to perform an action than the conventional way to perform the
same action.
Keyboard Shortcut:
------------------
A key or combination of keys that provides an alternative to standard ways of
performing an action. In the GNOME desktop, there are the following types of
keyboard shortcuts:
- access keys (keyboard vs mouse)
- hot keys (keyboard vs command line)
- shortcut keys (keyboard vs UI)
We will be proposing these definitions to the documentation community in the
next terminology update. Ideally, terminology usage in the UI should be the same
as in the documentation. If we accept the above definitions, then we should name
the preferences tool in question accordingly.
