If the goal is still 6 months from .0.0 (which is probably a separate
thread, but I think it is a laudable goal) then we ideally need to
settle on a components list within the next month (end of Boston
Summit?) and, at the latest, by the 2.0.2 release (i.e., early
September). That gives us 2-3 months of Really Active development with a
known module list before settling into stabilization mode.

P.S. Offhand, gstreamer/rb are the only things I can think of that I'd
really, really want to see added to 2.2, but galeon (if
licensing/distribution of Mozilla is not an issue) would also be really
nice, and I'm sure I'm forgetting at least one other app. Also, if fifth
toe does not get re-organized, I'd love to see gthumb and gtkam get in
to the main distro.
