I note that when I paste into oocalc, an import dialog prompts me to
select how the data should be handled.  Shouldn't/doesn't a clipboard
manager store content in terse, neutral format?  The receiving
application must decide which converter is necessary to transform the
content.

Is there an issue of storing large data immediately to disk?
