No, but I read the code back when I was looking at something similar.
(stalled due to my other implementator dropping offline for work in New
Zeeland.. )   This is something where it is "start again, do right"
they use a simple tcp socket mechanism + a few patches without much
overthought or review. Or for that matter, security.

reimplementing is faster than modification in this case.
