He might. Have a look at GPE, or the Zaurus stuff. I'm sure soundservers
are useful there too.

Incidently, floating point blows on my Quadra 660 (which for a while I
was playing music out of) and I don't think it's too crash hot on my SGI
Indy R4000 (which I was using as an xterm).
