Firefox is GTK 2, GNOME terminal is GTK 3. At least so far as I know,
Gentoo's firefox may be using GTK 3, although I doubt it.
And to my horror, I can't get into the orca preference at all.
Where are you trying to access Orca's preferences from? Or in other words,
what currently has focus when you attempt to press Orca plus insert?
I hit alt-f2 and then orca+space and nothing happens, sometimes I have
to hit escape from there to actually get into the preferences, but not
this time.

Your life is like a penny. You're going to lose it. The question is:
How do
you spend it?
