gnome-libs build problem.

Greetings,

I'm having a problem trying to build gnome-lib on my platform - Linux
2.2.2 / RH 5.2.

I'm trying to build gnome-libs 1.0.10, with ORBit 0.4.92, audiofile 0.1.7,
esound 0.2.8, imlib 1.9.4 and gtk 1.2.0 (thats all the relevant packages i
can think of). 

Hopefully someone will be able to shed some light on this:
