Vi/vim/elvis/etc. are very user friendly.  That's why the people who actually
*use* these editors (i.e., "users") are so loyal.

However, this family of editors is extraordinarily hostile to dilettantes.

(Although, judging from the screen shot, now somewhat less so.)
