Scrolling region of text

Hello,

I am looking for some-way to create a scrolling region of text, which
can scroll
both horizontal and vertical. 

I have tried GnomeLess and GtkText, both don't support this.
(They only support vertical scrolling)

Someone advised me to place the GtkText widget in a scrolled window,
unfortunately
that didn't work either. :-(

I am using glade (libglade) to do this.

Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated.
