Hrmmmm - does COMDEX usually fly people to the conferences?

Heh, if you want any books from bookshops here, I'm willing to buy/send
you some ;) (my university, the only American one here, has its own
printshop (a la MIT), so it has lots of Egypt-related books) - or you
could just buy direct from http://aucpress.com

Well - the COMDEX is sometime in April 2000, and Gitex I believe is
sometime in Febuary - unfortunately, I don't think they've started
advertising for them yet, I read it in PCWorld (Egyptian version(in
English)) - Coincidentally, they had a review of Windows vs Linux vs BeOS
- and they naturallyu had a KDE vs GNOME discussion. The article did have
some errors but it was overall good for public consumption (although they
appeared to favor KDE more since it was more like Windows)...

One thing though, the MidEast is a HEAVILY Microsoft-oriented
environment. One of the main reasons, in my opinion is Windows support
for right-to-left (i.e. Arabic/Hebrew) - It would be cool for a demo of
Project Pango if people decide to go...

Anyway, I'll post more information once it comes for registration time
and stuff. :)
